Is Perfection a Fantasy?

From the porcelain faces on Instagram to the uncontrollable laughs we witness in family parks, all these things provide us with a false idea of perfection. Our naive and aloof minds do not really make sense of the fact that these realities are warped and solely concocted.. Perfection is unachievable and a hoax to make people exhaust themselves in the pursuit of perfection.  Take a moment and ask yourself, why would anyone project the gruesome reality of their life to other? It seems like an insane concept to me. One may be concealing several tears and numerous lies behind the facade of perfection and extravagance. Everybody despises being pitied, I presume it is quite obvious that people prefer to be fancied and devoured. Do not get despondent the next time you see perfection on social media.

Things I Adore About my Country

Amidst the infuriating horns and national songs being televised on repeat, I ponder upon the things which I adore about my country. Realistically, Pakistan is a work in progress and is definitely full of flaws. The inflation, the poverty, the violence against women and minorities and several other factors taint the reputation of Pakistan. However, let us not neglect the how this country shines above others. Firstly, the tourism industry is noted to be one of the most well rounded and spellbinding one to ever exist. From the heavenly valleys of the north to the modern and progressive aroma of Islamabad, our country is an all rounder when it comes to being alluring to foreigners. We can assess this by all the ''travel vlogs in Pakistan'' by people from all around the world. They rave about the hospitality of the locals and prepossessing scenery. Secondly, you cannot deny that our country produces child prodigies and geniuses. Not just children, people from all ages and b...

Freedom of Speech and Rudeness

The world values opinionated people. People with substance, people who do not fret about being politically correct and people who stand their ground despite all the opposition. However, the same world refutes people who are rude and impolite. I often wonder where does a person draw the line?. How do we strike the perfect balance between being strong and substantial but not intimidating. Let us all classify what rudeness means. It is saying or doing something which hurts the feelings of others and can be detrimental to their mental health. It is being self deluded and dismissing others as inferior to yourself. It is quite common that people justify their indecent speech as being ''blunt'' and ''straightforward''. There is no amount of tact in their speech. Well I am here to burst your bubble by saying that you can be honest while maintaining a certain degree of diplomacy. It is inexcusable to say whatever you have in your mind before examining it. On the...

State of Nothingness

Have you ever felt desolate and empty?  The feeling that there is an absence of purpose in your life. There is no ambition or drive which compels  you to strive or work hard. You just live like a hollow being. Everyday becomes monotonous and rigid. You transform yourself into a smug rulebook. Once you wake up, your heart yearns to sleep again.  I call this state as ''the state of nothingness''. It is quite common after one encounters a failure or suffers from a tragedy. It takes time for a person to accept the reality so it is relatively difficult to succumb to the pain. Tragedy eliminates all emotions and replaces them with grief. The science behind grief is mind boggling. It is so intrinsic that a single event can decrease the amount of ''joy chemicals'' within your brain. Everyone handles grief in their own unique way. Quite commonly, people relapse into damaging habits which are detrimental for their health. Some binge eat and gain excessive weight ...

Magnifi Science: Innovative and Interesting

Karachi is a metropolitan city filled with colours and noises. Also known as the ''Heart of Pakistan'', Karachi needs more tourist attractions. Although it does have many food outlets and lavish restaurants, I personally thought we needed more creative projects to garner the sight of tourists. Alas, I became satisfied and content once I visited ''Magnifi Science'' by the Dawood Foundation. A fresh and imaginative concept, this science exhibition explores various different experiments ranging from biology to physics to mathematics. The experiments were innovative and sometimes very shocking to say the least. I guess one cannot decipher the limitless boundaries of science. My personal favourite was ''The Light Room'' as I was not expecting to witness my own frozen shadow.  Moreover, I was delighted to see the inclusive and diverse environment. The staff consisted of men and women from all ethnicities and backgrounds. The staff was trained ...
